In the Name of Science

Our Chapter was recently contacted by a couple of graduate students at Hopkins Marine Station. These students are each working on different research projects in conservation biology and they thought our chapter members and friends might be interested in hearing about what they are doing and possibly sponsoring their work. The links below will take you to their projects  which are listed on Petridish.com. This site was designed to allow scientists a personal way to connect with interested supporters. Check them out and feel free to share their work with anyone you think may be interested.

5th Annual Ocean Day

Today is the 5th Annual Ocean Day lobbying event in Sacramento.  Even if you weren't able to go, it's worthwhile to go to the websitehttp://www.environmentcalifornia.org/page/cae/welcome-5th-annual-ocean-day and take a look.  Download the materials, and read through them.  It's a quick read, and has good background info on various California legislative bills of interest and gives a good overview of the main ocean issues.
